Boiçucanga Compost

Boiçucanga is one of the main urban centers in São Sebastião, on the north coast of SP.  It is within the Atlantic Forest, located among rivers and springs, but the neighborhood’s population is growing and, along with it, refuse that pollutes rivers and riparian forests.

FunBEA and the Comitê de Bacias Hidrográficas do Litoral Norte (River Basin Committee of the North Coast of São Paulo) supported the territory’s institutions – Bioveritas, Humus do Quintal and Papel do Quintal which, disturbed by the waste situation in the neighborhood, created the project that has implemented 20 learning spaces and involved 50 families in the practice of composting.
