The university and the countryside

FunBEA and the Núcleo de Apoio à Cultura e Extensão em Educação e Conservação Ambiental da Universidade de São Paulo (Center for Support to Culture and Extension in Education and Environmental Conservation of the University of São Paulo – NACE PTECA) work together in the areas of Environmental Education, Forest Restoration, Biodiversity Conservation, Agroforestry and Sustainable Rural Settlements.

The Center conducts university extension projects with agroecological settlements in the South of Bahia associated with rural social movements. In the interior of São Paulo, it carries out the Caipira Corridor, connecting landscapes and people, as well as research and restoration of forests, family farming in the Pontal de Paranapanema region, among others.
